So before I went away, I posted about a pair of Zara trousers which had just become my ultimate Summer saviour. Lightweight Mulberry
silk in an on-trend purple, baroque-style paisley print - they beat any summer dress I’d gone looking
for hands down. The intended-cropped style makes them a perfect heel-wearing
length on my diminutive legs, and fortunately the proportions don’t look odd –
which is usual when you wear trousers intended for Tall Girls.
So, although the weather wasn’t amazing in Tuscany, I still
managed to get some decent wear out of them with the French Connection cropped
top I mentioned, but unfortunately failed to have photos taken (I blame the
vino…and the Jaegers).
It wasn’t long before I was rocking them again though, this
time at Vogue Fashion’s Night Out in Central London. Worn with a vintage-find,
deep-blue velvet top and my PPQ @ Office wedges (worn for the first time!),
they were the perfect statement piece and helped create a sumptuous style which
is proving so popular at the moment. The night itself was amazing; I’ve never
seen so many beautiful people in one place. Add to that free drinks, designer
shop raving (I’m looking at you, Michael Kors sales-girls!) and a buzzing
atmosphere, and I had one of the best nights out I’ve had in ages…
